UniversalExtractor E-800: Determination of hexane-soluble fat content in pomegranate seeds using the UniversalExtractor E-800
Pomegranate seed powder is interesting in terms of its nutritional value, in particular, its high content of folate and potassium but also because of its potential in phytomedicine. A compliant fat determination is hereby needed for the quality control. In the presented application, the sample is extracted with the UniversalExtractor E-800 using the method Soxhlet warm. Gravimetric determination of the hexane-soluble fat content follows the drying of the extract to a constant weight, resulting in highly repeatable fat contents.
