Purification of lavender essential oil by prep SFC

Lavandula angustifolia, commonly known as lavender, is a member of the lavender plant family. This versatile plant is widely cultivated for its ornamental value and is also prized for its fragrant essential oil. Lavender essential oil is renowned for its numerous beneficial health effects, which can be attributed to its primary constituents: volatile compounds. To facilitate the separation of the various compounds found in lavender essential oil, a preparative supercritical fluid chromatography (prep SFC) method is presented in this context. This method utilizes the Sepiatec SFC instrument manufactured by BUCHI. By employing this advanced instrument, researchers and manufacturers can effectively isolate and separate the diverse compounds present in lavender essential oil, further enhancing our understanding of its chemical composition and potential applications.
