Gel content determination in polyethylene
UniversalExtractor E-800: Gel content determination in polyethylene following standard ASTM D2765
A procedure for the gel content determination is introduced. Hereby, polyethylene samples, containing cross-linked and non-cross-linked material, are extracted with the UniversalExtractor E-800 using the Hot Extraction (HE) method. The gel content, which is the insoluble fraction of the sample, was determined gravimetrically. The results correspond well to the specification.
