Determination of Dioxins and Furans in Soil using the SpeedExtractor E-916
PCDDs and PCDFs are persistent organic pollutants (POPs). They are unwanted by-products of combustion released by chemical manufactures and municipal and industrial waste incinerators. Due to their toxicity they are monitored worldwide. This application note describes the procedure used to extract PCDDs and PCDFs from a soil sample using the SpeedExtractor E-916 in accordance with the U.S. EPA Method 3545A.
