Determination of Quality Parameters in Cereals Using Portable FT-NIR

Cereal Grain Analysis with ProxiScout™

Determination of Quality Parameters in Cereals Using Portable FT-NIR

Near-Infrared (NIR) Spectroscopy is a fast, reliable, and non-destructive analytical method for cereal quality analysis across the entire production chain, from raw material intake to final quality control. Key cereal quality parameters such as moisture, protein, starch, fiber, and ash can be measured within seconds without extensive sample preparation or reagents. By combining advanced chemometric calibration, portable NIR instrumentation, and ready-to-use analytical models, manufacturers can achieve efficient quality assurance and routine field analysis with accurate and consistent results. This application note demonstrates the versatility of NIR technology for different cereal types and products, including whole corn and ground rice, while highlighting the performance of ProxiScout™ calibration models.
