Manual processing of glass

For processing you heat glass tubes at the torch. By regular turning, pulling, bending and blowing you bring it into shape. In addition, you have tools such as tweezers, graphite reamers and holders at your disposal.

Work at the bench burner or lathe

As an apparatus glassblower, you will work at a bench burner and fabricate various apparatus directly at the flame. Larger and more complex parts are produced on the lathe.

Independent work

As an apparatus glassblower at BUCHI, you usually work independently and with concentration at an optimally equipped workplace. Your intuition and fine motor skills are highly developed here. A wide variety of patterns and jigs are available to you for high-quality results. After you have learned the basic skills, you will manufacture various glass parts at BUCHI, which are needed for laboratory instruments in research, medicine, pharma and industry. The complex precision glass parts require your manual dexterity and a high understanding of quality.
