At BÜCHI Labortechnik AG we respect your right to privacy and we understand that, as a visitor to www.buchi.com, you prefer to control your own personal information and preferences. For this reason, we may ask you to register or to provide personal information and preferences when you visit certain areas of www.buchi.com, download software, request information, or subscribe to the newsletter.

If a user elects to use our 'Email this page' feature for informing a colleague about our website, we ask them for the colleague's name and email address. BUCHI will automatically send the colleague the specified email or the specified website information. BUCHI will not use the colleague's information to contact them in the future.

BUCHI community membership and the use of log files (cookies)
BUCHI offers free community membership to all www.buchi.com visitors. In order to establish membership, visitors are requested to provide both personal information and preferences. This information is stored and protected by your BUCHI ID and Password.
The membership sign-in information is stored until you explicitly sign out. It also allows you to return to any BUCHI website on subsequent visits without having to re-enter your information. BUCHI remembers you by placing a membership log file (cookie) that contains only enough information to identify you upon return visits. A 'cookie' is a small line of text that is stored with your web browser for record-keeping purposes and helps BUCHI provide better service to you. Your browser has options to accept, reject, or provide you with notice when a cookie is sent.
No information, other than that found in the Membership cookie, will be accessed by any BUCHI system. Access to your membership information always requires both your BUCHI ID and Password.
BUCHI also utilizes visitor log files (cookies) and hosted tracking with our website. Once a user enters our site, a cookie follows them through their click stream path. Examples of information being collected by these cookies and the hosted tracking include the number of times a user came to our site(s), and the paths they took to get there. BUCHI uses the data collected from website visitor cookies and hosted tracking in aggregate form only and does not collect any personally identifiable information. Use of this information helps us better understand what users are seeking and learning at our website(s) and helps us identify potential navigation issues. We also use Remarketing-Tools to trigger ads across the Internet. Our remarketing campaigns will display relevant ads tailored to you based on what parts of the www.buchi.com website you have viewed by placing a cookie on your machine. This cookie does not in any way identify you or give access to your computer or mobile device. Remarketing allows us to tailor our marketing to better suit your needs and only display ads that are relevant to you.
Through Google Analytics Advertising Features BUCHI receives additional insights about the demographics of the users of www.buchi.com. These reports do not include any personally identifiable information and does not allow BUCHI to trace back gathered data to identify individual users. You can opt out of any of these services by visiting networkadvertising.org.
We also gauge effectiveness of our communications by inserting transparent GIF images in our HTML emails. These GIF files are not unique identifiers and do not gather any personally identifiable information. They simply let us know the number of emails that have been opened.
Third party cookies and Social Media Widgets
In order to prevent the undesired forwarding of your user data to Twitter, Facebook and Google+ you should not be logged on to the said services when visiting websites. No data will then be forwarded to these services. Alternatively, you can deactivate the social media services and thus prevent communication with Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. The latest web browsers offer a further possibility of preventing the transfer of data to the above mentioned services on a general basis via the function “Do not track”. You can activate this function permanently in the browser settings of the latest browser versions.
Links to third parties
Our site may contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites. We may also offer you the opportunity to use social login. If you chose to use social login, please be aware that the social platform will share your profile information with us. The information that is shared will depend on your social platform settings.
To improve supply and to get web statistics, we collect so-called tracking data which include information on the surfing customs of the users. Such tracking data, as they are collected e.g. by Netmetrix and Google Analytics, do not allow any conclusions on individual users. We neither receive personal data of the visitors nor do we store any credit card details of customers of our eshop or share customer details with any 3rd parties.
Right to demand information
Upon receiving a request in writing and subject to a suitable proof of identity, BUCHI will inform you which customer data about you is saved (.e.g. name, address).
BUCHI has taken extensive safety and operational precautions to protect your personal data held by us from unauthorized access and misuse. The safety procedures are checked regularly and adapted in accordance with technological advances.
BUCHI will reveal data to public authorities only if this is compulsory. Our employees are under obligation to maintain confidentiality.
The handling of data is carried out according to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection of June 19, 1992.
Agreement by customers and changes to the data protection regulations
As a user of the BUCHI website, you agree to allow BUCHI to collect and save customer data for the purpose mentioned in accordance with the above regulations. BUCHI reserves the right to modify these data protection regulations at any time. The data protection regulations in force at any particular time shall be those published on the BUCHI portal at the time. By continuing to use the BUCHI website and/or Internet services, you agree to the BUCHI data protection regulations that are in force at the time.
How to update your personal information and preferences: You can help BUCHI maintain the accuracy of your personal information by notifying us when you change your name, address, title, phone number, email address, or your preferences.
