This study was conducted to develop a rapid and accurate NIR analysis method for determining fat, moisture, fat in dry matter and NaCl in cheese. Commercial cheeses (160 samples) were used to create calibration models. Conventional analysis of cheese ingredients is both time-consuming and expensive. Near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is fast, inexpensive and can provide useful information on the ingredients of cheese.

In this paper we describe the nitration of different kinds of aromatics with nitric acid together with sulfuric acid. The whole work is done in parallel on the BUCHI Syncore® Reactor synthesizer. Even the reaction of highly reactive aromatic compounds can be handled on the parallel synthesizer thanks of the efficient cooling possibility of the platform and the inert construction of the instrument.
