The company is converted into a family owned corporation, Büchi Laboratoriumstechnik AG.
Eugen Büchi, oldest son of Walter Büchi, takes over the management of the company after the death of Walter Büchi.
1964
A second factory wing is built as an extension. Walter Büchi employs 60 persons.
1961
Market Introduction of Nitrogen Determination instrument (Kjeldahl) and Melting Point Determination.
1959
Thirty employees move into the newly built factory at Meierseggstrasse in Flawil. Further extensions in 1964 and 1984.
1957
Walter Büchi introduces the first rotary evaporator in the market.

Walter Büchi sets up his own glass-blowing workshop in a cellar of a private house in Heerbrugg (CH).
Manufacturing of glass fiber conductors for the textile industry and glass instruments for school laboratories, hospitals and the industry.
