Near Infra Red Spectroscopy is an elegant and easy method to support your daily laboratory business. In contrast to classical chemical techniques, our FT spectrometers can be operated even by non-professional stuff after a basic introduction. Despite the speed and simplicity of routine operation, the advanced system administration and especially the calibration-model development require a deeper understanding of the underlying principles.
For that reason BUCHI offers one-week training courses organized by certified personnel and restricted to a maximum number of 8 participants (minimum number is 3). On-site trainings will be offered on special requests too. It is the goal to provide our customers with a broad and serious overview of theory and practise of NIR spectroscopy.
The following schedule lists the major parts that will be addressed during the training course. Besides, there is always the possibility of adaptations depending on the trainee group and individual preferences. Each participant will receive a certificate for successful completion on the last day.
Day 1:
• Basics of NIR spectroscopy: history, physics, technologies
• BUCHI Hardware, Measurement options, add-ons, accessories, basic service
• Application development and experimental design, first measurements.
• NIRware
Day 2:
• Identification of substances
• Application development, measurements
• Practical work on the NIRFlex N-500
• Configurations of NIRWare
• Database handling
• Lifecycle concept
• First calibrations with NIRCal, NIRCal Wizard
• Chemometric basics, Cluster
Day 3:
• NIRCal advanced: Cluster Calibrations
• Cluster Theory, chemometrics, Principal Component Analysis (PCA)
• Calibration optimization
• Practical work on the NIRFlex N-500
Day 4:
• NIRCal advanced, Quantifiation
• Calibration optimization
• PCR/ PLS/ CV (Principal Component Regression, Partial Least Squares, Cross validation)
• Practical work on the NIRFlex N-500
Day 5:
• NIRCal Pretreatments, Model optimization
• Practice and repeats
• Open points, discussion, feedback
• Certificate
