Refrigerant

What is R134a?

R-134a is 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane. this is a haloalcane refrigerant with thermodynamic properties similar to R-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane), but with less ozone depletion potential.

Cooling medium, coolant

What coolant is recomended?

If the mixture of the coolant is not correct, it may freeze in the chiller and block or destroy the pump. Therefore we recommend a mixture of ethylene glycol and water 30/70 (%V). This mixture has a freezing point of -14°C. As the F-100 has a fix temperature of 10°C also water is OK.

More than one Rotavapor on a chiller?

Can the recirculating chiller be controlled by more than one vacuum controller?


The recirculating chiller has only one connection RJ45 for a vacuum controller. If more than one Rotavapor is cooled by one chiller, the chiller has to be operated by its internal control panel.

Heat emissions

How much heat is generated by the chiller?

The compressor in the chiller generate a lot of heat. The is blown out of the unit by a fan. The produced heat depends on the cooling capacity of the chiller. The heat capacities are:
- F-100       max. 300W
- F-105       max. 300W
- F-108       max. 500W
- F-114       max. 1000W
- F-125       max. 1800W
In the standby mode the compressor and also the circulating pump is turned off and does not generate any heat emissions.
